A day in Newcastle

«Why do we make evangelism so difficult? It can be so easy to share what God has done in me.  The Gospel isn’t complicated to share when we’re just ourselves–when we love people and tell it to the lost.”

When I walk the streets of Newcastle I see people who are lost and in need. There are homeless people begging in the rain for money, thinking no one cares about them.

Ethiopia Project

Our involvement in Ethiopia started in 1996, and this new video gives you a good impression of the school projects we have in the Arsi region.

Hundreds of children on Vacation Bible School

Procession as a part of one of the Vacation Bible Schools

Here comes the English version of the previous Thirst For Life update.

Here in India we are cooperating with the local DTS, who has the first part of their outreach locally. Together we arrange Vacation Bible Schools (VBS) in various villages and slums. This far, we have worked in two slums and two villages. In total there are 700+ children and young people joining our programs.

The slum we are in this week had no Chrisitans when this type of school wa started some years back, but today there are several Christian families and a growing church. One of the villages we are in is a place our contacts just started working in. There are no Christians, but still there are around 100 children joining the week long VBS! We have also been on several house visits and shared the Gospel on the streets.  It takes time for Hindus to understand the Gospel, but we can see that they are touched by the message.

Please pray for our team and our ministry!

Hundrevis av barn på sommerbibelskole

Village church, picture by Kyle Irby

Be gjerne for teamet og tjenesten vår!

Word on the street: SOE students are great!

What do the people of Copenhagen say about our School of Evangelism outreach team?

“My encounter with the YWAM team was not in the streets of Copenhagen, nor in the churches, but I actually had the privilige to live with them. It was so random…but today it seems more like fate, or as they would like to put it: the will of God.
From the very first day, approximately three weeks ago, I got off the plane to take the first steps on the flat Danish soil, I felt like I was at home. I lived, ate and socialized with these weird and crazy missionaries, enwrapped in their natural habitat. As I, at that time, was searching for the presence of God, or any truth whatsoever, this was the totally right thing for me. Even though I didnt compare to them in faith, and even though I was reading and discovering the first lines of God’s Word while these people practically lived by it, I felt included.  I felt like this was the right place to be.
When I came, I was searching for the signs of God, looking for signs of His presence. After three weeks, I now feel like a fool, as I have been oblivious of His plan all along, and blind to His presence.  This is so obvious! I have never in my life been to Copenhagen before. How could I not see that there was a plan for me, as the city practically held its arms open to greet me? How could I not see God through these people?
These are people that make friends for life.”
Audun, University student

“I learned a whole new side of evangelism. They have started a fire in the herats of our leadership to act more and just go out and BE the gospel.”
Filip, youth leader in Citykirken

“They are role models for people like me, giving me more power to talk about Jesus and not be afraid of rejection, power to change others’ lives.”
Magdalena, co-leader for Alpha
